Pure Democracy

With the advent of the Internet, Congress is no longer required or needed.

In 1774, Congress was created to represent the masses of people because it was impossible for the masses of US citizens to travel to Washington to vote on every bill. Now, with the Internet, it is possible for all 200.1 million voters to represent themselves and to vote on every bill online.

The solution is called EVOTE, with the server located at EVOTE.com. The EVOTE solution guarantees that every person’s voice will be heard. As a by-product of the EVOTE solution lobbyists are no longer practical. Not to mention a 75 million dollar savings per year in Congressional salaries.

The technical requirements of the solution are as follows:

·         A small biometric device, such as a fingerprint scanner will scan the voter’s fingerprint. These devices are currently available at most computer retailers. In the future, the fingerprint scanner will be integrated into the computer’s keyboard, similar in size to a “delete” key.

·         Voter registration requirements will be the same as it is today with the addition of submitting the voter’s fingerprint to VOTERS.gov.

·         EVOTE.com will collect the voter’s fingerprint and other required information for verification. EVOTE.com will also list the bills available to vote on, the context of each bill, and the author of the bill. Any of the 200.1 million registered voters can author a bill.

·         The EVOTE.com user interface will be similar to the FaceBook.com interface in that each voter will have the capability to setup a dialogue with the bill’s author to discuss the bill. Any registered voter will also have the ability to modify the bill, similar to the Wikipedia.org interface. Also, a library of all bills, propositions, and initiatives, past and present will be maintained.

·         EVOTE.com will forward the voter’s information to VOTERS.gov over a proprietary and classified interface to verify the identity of the voter and to complete the voting process.

·         As the EVOTE system evolves many new features will be added.
